Sam Colson
Biography
Sam Colson is a queer, non-binary marketer working full-time in the charity sector at Mental Health Matters, and an advocate grounded in lived experience. Autistic and ADHD, Sam brings neurodivergence into their professional work, writing openly about navigating disability in the workplace and beyond.
From a young age, Sam cared for their quadriplegic father, giving them lifelong connection to disability justice and a commitment to intersectional advocacy across both neurodivergence and physical disability.
As Digital Marketing Lead at ParaPride, Sam has led social media strategy for Intersectionality Awareness Week and built the Intersectionality Awareness Week website. They’ve also supported community events including London Pride and ParaPride’s Disabled Queer Extravaganza at Hoxton Hall, as well as strengthening the overall digital presence of the charity. Alongside this volunteering, Sam also serves as a school governor, sitting on an Academy Scrutiny Committee to support and bring visibility to LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent perspectives at the top levels of education.
Sam has written for ParaPride and Intersectionality Awareness Week, focusing on centering lived experience in communications.
Sam holds an MA in Marketing Communications and Branding (Distinction) and a BSc in Marketing with Digital Communications (First Class).
